仕事内容 Objective of Role:
To champion, facilitate and support the sourcing, storage and dissemination of legal and
commercial information, including internal knowledge transfer, to the Tokyo office
lawyers and staff.

To provide primary research assistance to the Tokyo office and the firm generally on Japanese legal and commercial research.
To provide front line support to the Tokyo office on the delivery of firmwide knowledge services.

Key Responsibilities:
Research
・ Assisting with legal and general commercial research.
Information management
・ Assisting with the procurement of Japanese research resources.
・ Maintaining the Tokyo hard copy library.
・ Maintaining and developing the Tokyo KM intranet pages.
・Managing the Tokyo KM budget.
Current Awareness
・ Monitoring legal developments and significant commercial news in Japan and
drafting internal current awareness communications.
Training
・ Providing training on research and knowledge tools.
・Assisting with the organisation of training in the Tokyo office, both for internal
audiences and for clients, including arranging accreditation for certified learning
requirements (CPD/CLE).
・Liaising with KM and L&D colleagues to help provide necessary training to support
regulatory and developmental learning requirements.
Championing and supporting Tokyo office knowledge initiatives
・ Actively participating in office meetings and regularly liaising with the Tokyo
lawyers to share and collect internal knowledge.
・ Acting as secretary to the Tokyo Knowledge Committee and managing the
implementation of knowledge initiatives set up by the Committee.
・ Assisting with the drafting and development of Japanese language client
facing knowledge products including the firm’s website and brochures.
Assistance with Business Development
・ Provide on-the-ground support for Tokyo office marketing-related activities
working with the Hong Kong based BD team
・ Handle local client seminars and event sponsorships
・ Collect completed matter information for iAdvise and assist lawyers and
secretaries to make their entries
・ Support the directory submissions process, which is principally lead out of
Hong Kong
・ Assist on translations of Japanese language marketing materials, including
external Japanese language website, fee earner bios and brochures
・ Assist on coordination with Hong Kong Business Development of publishing
client alerts and newsletters
・ Make sure there are sufficient hard copies of marketing materials in the office,
including English and Japanese office brochures
・ Proactively engage lawyers to update marketing materials periodically
・ Proactively remove leavers from marketing materials and include new partners
and new joiners, as appropriate

Skills and Attributes:
・ Helpful, approachable and professional manner.
・ Fluent Japanese language skills and a high proficiency in English essential.
・ Law degree or previous experience in research (preferably in a law firm) required. Previous experience of writing
publications in Japanese preferred.
・ Very good IT skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) required. Familiarity with Sharepoint an advantage.
